Analysis to increase the number of customers for PREPLY
Introduction
The experience of
improving your experience is the way FuturFounder is working nowadays, so while
training and leading professionals like us they are also developing a real
strategy for startups on how to command their objectives.
The FutureFounder program is now an experience
like no other in any program out there, mainly because they are focused on
enhancing your skills with great real potential by giving you the exact tools
the world is needing and is looking for. As a part of the experience that the FutureFounder
program has given me during this amazing time, I feel like I’ve increased my
strategic skills, my project design software knowledge, and increased
self-confidence in developing analysis. In this part of our simulation
training, we are doing research on a startup of our choice to start proving
ourselves in the upcoming process.
Preply is an e-learning platform that helps people to connect with a tutor or teacher who can help them learn the language they are asking for using the same platform to intermediate them.
Conducting a strategic analysis
(Lesson 1, 2)
Questions to answer:
Why is it important to conduct a strategic analysis?
To investigate the
processes the company is carrying out.
The importance of
conducting an analysis will give us the real ideas we need to define our
strategy for the future.
What steps do you need to take to conduct a strategic
analysis?
First, we need to
know the company, its mission, and its vision, and then understand the way they
are working right now.
What is the context of the organization and relevant
systems?
The context is the
environment and the customers they are aiming for.
What are the external factors and stakeholders? Showcase
STEEPLE Analysis.
The external
factors that are affecting PREPLY are mostly the other platforms that offer the
e-learning service.
What are the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and
threats? (SWOT Analysis).

Defining a strategy (Lesson 3) Questions
to answer: After conducting a strategic analysis,
what is the next step? Define real
objectives for the company. What is your strategic focus and
why? Make Preply a well-known
company inspired by e-learning and education so they could reach more people
and so they can amplify and get to more places. What are the selection criteria you
chose and why? Increasing the
population on the platform would help us to help even more students and more
teachers too. What were the alternatives and why
did you select the strategy you are moving forward with? (Some sort of
analysis matrix would be useful). -Look for new
customers. -Encourage people
to learn. -Become a more
reliable way to study. Defining a strategic roadmap (Lesson
4, 5) Questions
to answer: Why is it important to plan and
measure a strategy? Well, good research
will always give us clearer ideas and a path to follow in front of us, with
this we can create a strategy that goes with our objectives. In order to define the
strategic roadmap, what are the objectives and key results? What steps do you
need to take when planning and measuring a strategy? Well, our objectives are specific and really possible, we are looking
to become more recognized, and our key results are based on specific
customers. ●
Activities? Well as we advanced,
we have defined many activities focused on creating a social image for the
startup. ●
Metrics? The most real and
possible ways to obtain in a minimum time. ●
Resources? We are being
objective by saying that we can use the same resources as many times as
possible.
Objective: Reach more young customers
globally Key Result 1: Increase by 30% the rate of high school
students looking for teachers. Key Result 2: Reduce time of contact with young users to
30 mins max. Key Result 3: Growth in the number of
teens learning a new language by 15%.
Recommendations You are now a subject-matter
expert on your startup. What are your next step recommendations for the
organization? -They must recognize their potential and how they can conduct a
better strategy on the same road they’ve been working on until now. Key Takeaways You just completed your first
strategic analysis project with the FutureFounder program. What have you
learned from completing this project? The project itself has helped me how to improve myself in critical
thinking, and now it’s becoming easier for me to identify the tools needed for analysis.

● How
did you teach yourself to do this? By reading our
presentations and checking my notes and the past classes we had. ● What
were some of your biggest challenges completing this project? ● What was your research
process to learn about the startup? My biggest challenge was to take decisions and imagine myself being there. My research was
deep but more important was about learning how people are interacting with the
platform, and that was my biggest accomplishment. ● How
did you incorporate peer and FutureFounder feedback into your final draft? ● What would you tell someone
else doing his/her first strategic analysis? The feedback was continuous
while I was doing the document and the analysis. And my advice for everyone
starting this same project would be to first identify their selves in the
company and what are they looking for.
